ALCoder Update Available
We are very pleased to make ALCoder 3.6 available to all new customers and current customers with paid maintenance. ALCoder 3.6 includes the following enhancements, among others:
- Improved load file support
- LAW 5.0 support
- DD MM YYYY date format

Click Pricing Now Available
For those service bureaus or law firms interested in generating revenue and/or billing the coding back to clients, a click-based version of ALCoder is now available. Coding will cost $.10 per document/click with a minimal cost for the software. For each document that ALCoder codes, a score of A-F gets assigned based upon the amount of data that could be extracted (i.e., a handwritten note would likely generate an "F"). Documents that are scored with an "F" do not count towards clicks. Contact us at 312.251.4440 or sales@rosentech.net for additional information.

Why is Auto-Coding Necessary with Electronic Discovery?
Many believe that when processing electronic documents that the metadata is accurate or complete. In fact, that is often not the case. The metadata reflects the "profile" of the document, not the information within it. For example, if you make a copy of a document from your network that someone else created, edit it and save it, the metadata in the author field will reflect the original author, not you. While the metadata is often important, it cannot solely be relied upon for "coding." ALCoder goes into the native files, emails and attachments and extracts the objective information from the document, not the metadata. It actually supplements the metadata so that the data includes both coding and metadata. The best part is that the coding that takes place with ALCoder is near perfect because there are no formatting or OCR issues to contend with.
